About Us
We are a youth-led mental health movement who are committed to addressing eating disorders and the harm that unrealistic and demanding Asian beauty standards could bring up. Our organization was founded by high school students along with a family who has experienced the realities so many Asian girls face: constant comments on appearance, colorism, diet culture, and social media that normalized it all. The pressure, often compounded through family dynamic and cultural expectations, and backed up by pernicious beauty products, can have a devastating impact on mental and physical health along with one’s own confidence.
Our movement directs its focus on eating disorders: their cultural etiology, psychological repercussions, and methods of prevention. Particular attention is given to how social media, beauty ideals, and generational mindsets outline body image and self-worth in young Asian girls. We believe change must be led by youth voices, informed by families, and guided by mental health professionals. By combining education, research, and advocacy, we aim to challenge these harmful narratives to create space for healing, honesty, and healthier representations of Asian identity.
